Makes wonderful grilled cheese and lunch box sandwiches! I've made this bread on a Monday, and I then store it in a plastic bag. We use it for sandwiches, toast, etc. It stays fresh for days. Of course, it's usually gone in a day or two at our house.

Ingredients

1 cup warm water

2 tablespoons warm water

¼ cup honey

1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast

2 tablespoons butter

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup bread flour

1 teaspoon salt

Danish Spiced Rye Bread (Sigtebrod)

Step 1

Pour warm water honey butter whole wheat flour bread flour salt and yeast respectively into the pan of a bread machine.

Step 2

Set the bread machine to Basic 2 pound loaf light crust and select Start. Cool completely before slicing.
