Tia's Roasted Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1 large onion

thinly sliced

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon parsley flakes

1 teaspoon dried basil leaves

½ teaspoon sea salt

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

coarsely ground black pepper to taste

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Step 2

Place tomatoes onion olive oil parsley basil salt garlic powder and pepper in a 4-quart Dutch oven; stir to combine.

Step 3

Bake in the preheated oven uncovered stirring occasionally until sauce is thick and bubbling about 1 hour. Serve immediately.
