Buttermilk Oatmeal Bread

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup buttermilk

½ cup vegetable oil

1 egg

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1

Mix oats with buttermilk. Let stand for 1/2 hour.

Step 2

Stir oil egg and brown sugar into oat mixture. Stir together flour baking powder soda and salt: mix into oat mixture. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.

Step 3

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 55 to 60 minutes or until done.
