King of the Hill Frito Pie

I was watching King of the Hill, Peggy mentions making Frito® pie. My husband looks at me and says see if you can find something like that on the internet. Looking at other people's recipes on other sites, I decided to make my own version of Frito Pie. While Hank Hill prefers Wolf Brand Chili, I made my own. :) Hope you enjoy!

King of the Hill Frito Pie

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground turkey

2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce

1 (10 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes with green chiles

1 (6 fluid ounce) can tomato juice

or more to taste

1 (1.25 ounce) package mild chili seasoning mix

1 (16 ounce) package corn chips (such as Fritos®)

½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

or to taste

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir turkey in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.

Step 2

Stir tomato sauce diced tomatoes tomato juice and chili seasoning mix into turkey; simmer until until chili is hot about 5 minutes more.

Step 3

Pour corn chips into a large bowl and top with turkey chili. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over chili.
