Dr Michael's Yeasted Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

3 ½ cups bread flour

½ cup cornmeal

1 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons white sugar

3 tablespoons shortening

1 cup milk

⅛ cup water

1 egg

2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast

Caraway Rye Bread (for the bread machine)

Step 1

Place the ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.

Step 2

Select the Basic or White Bread setting and start the machine. Transfer the bread from the pan to a rack to cool. Wrap in foil to store.
