Italian Stewed Tomatoes

Ingredients

24 large tomatoes - peeled

seeded and chopped

1 cup chopped celery

½ cup chopped onion

¼ cup chopped green bell pepper

2 teaspoons dried basil

1 tablespoon white sugar

Step 1

In a large saucepan over medium heat combine tomatoes celery onion bell pepper basil and sugar. Cover and cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
