Frosting and Icing - Dessert
My mom used to make this all time. Wonderful on a spice cake!

Browned Butter Icing
¼ cup butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons hot water
Dessert Step 1 Heat the butter in a saucepan over low heat until golden brown about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the confectioners' sugar cream and vanilla extract. Add water mixing vigorously until smooth.
